Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is pregnant. She plays Dr. Meredith Grey on the Emmy-winning medical drama ABC hit TV Series Grey's Anatomy. Ellen Pompeo and her music producer husband, Chris Ivery, are expecting their first child together. People Magazine, who broke the news earlier today, report that the 39 year old actress and the 41 music producer are very happy with the news. Pompeo's representative, Jennifer Allen, confirms to the magazine that the couple is starting a family.

"It's great news," Allen told People. "They're ecstatic."

They were married in November of 2007 by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The couple met in 2003.

"It's a huge lifestyle change, and I take that very seriously," she told Allure magazine of motherhood.

The 39-year-old actress married Ivery, 41, in November 2007 New at City Hall in New York. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg officiated.
